We had a great turnout at the Town Hall Meeting last night at the Lorain County Chapter of the American Red Cross (http://www.redcross.org/oh/elyria).
Thanks so much to all of the city officials who came out to support the residents and share information about what's going on in our City: Police Chief Duane Whitely, Law Director Scott Serazin, Senior Manager--Building Department Kevin Brubaker, Street Department Scott Payne, Water Distribution Dave Rothgery, Human Resources Richard Jackson, and Economic Development Specialist James Graham. Also in attendance were Clerk of Council Forrest Bullocks and Council Members Mark Jessie (3rd Ward), Marcus Madison (5th Ward), Vic Stewart III (at-large), and Brenda Davis (2nd Ward). Mary Siwierka came later and helped us to conclude the meeting.
Meeting minutes are being prepared and will be posted on this web site once they are completed.
Much thanks to our neighbors at the Red Cross for hosting this event. Mary Fenwick gave an excellent presentation to start off the meeting, talking about the services offered, upcoming events and a call for volunteers. If you are interested and willing to help out, there are many ways in which you can volunteer. Call the Red Cross at 440-324-2929, stop by to see them at 2929 West River Rd. N. in Elyria or go to their web site for more information http://www.redcross.org/oh/elyria.
It was also good to see some of our new Ward residents--welcome to the 4th Ward!
