The Engineering Department has been working on an estimate to correct the drainage problems in the area between the Ohio Turnpike to N. Pasadena, between Gulf Road and Abbe Road, including Berkley Road. Over the past several years, there have been numerous complaints and concerns raised regarding the flow of water, ponding and high water levels after a storm event. Due to the outdated drains in the area, installed by the original developer, there are many problems that continue to get worse.
As a result, the Engineering Department has reviewed the existing drainage and has identified methods by which to improve wastewater management and flow. Now that this preliminary estimate has been completed, a referral has been made to Council's Utilities Committee. A copy of the basic referral is at the link below.
If you or someone you know lives in this area, please let them know that this is under consideration and have them contact the Council Clerk's office at (440) 326-1550 so that you are notified when this matter is placed on an agenda for discussion. Most likely, this will need to be paid for by assessment of the properties that benefit from the improvements.
