Lorain, Vermilion, Elyria police departments earn federal grants
VERMILION — The Lorain, Elyria and Vermilion police departments were awarded federal grants from the Ohio Department of Public Safety's Ohio Traffic Safety Office. The grant is awarded to law enforcement departments across the state to help support them in improving traffic safety.
The departments were recipients of the grant for the fiscal year 2011. The Lorain Police Department was awarded a $36,358 grant, Elyria received $45,056 and Vermilion received a $28,240 grant.
