Washington Avenue Block Watches

Turnout was excellent for the proposed new Washington Avenue Block Watch. In fact, so many people arrived at the meeting that there was not enough room for everyone at the EPD Community Room.

It was discussed that the designated area is rather large for just one block watch coordinator; therefore, the area was initially split into three groups, and then combined back into two groups. The area will be divided at Ohio Avenue, with the north section as one block watch and the south section as another. Block watch coordinators were designated and volunteers for street captains will be accepted next. Stay tuned for more information about future meetings and volunteer opportunities.

Block watches make a significant difference in neighborhoods and they help to bring neighbors together. They are a tremendous asset to help our police force deal with crime and help to keep our neighborhoods safe. Thanks to all who attended last night!
